Bio

My name is Filippo Oncini.

I’m a Marie Curie Fellow at the Sustainable Consumption Institute at the University of Manchester with a project on food support provision and food poverty in COVID19 times.

In 2019 I was postdoc at the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Trento on the Horizon 2020 project “PLATEFORM”, where I studied how food practices in the home are affected by innovations in provisioning platforms.

I received my PhD in Sociology and Social Research at the University of Trento in 2018 with a mixed methods thesis on food inequalities, school meals and families eating practices in the Italian context. My thesis was awarded the “University of Trento – Best thesis award” in 2019.

My works have appeared in several international journals such as Poetics, Sociology of Health and Illness, Sociology, International Migration Review, Geoforum, and Ethnography.
